Record breaking weekend at NEC Classic Motor Show 2015

The NEC Classic Motor Show once again provided the classic car world a season finale on a massive scale over the weekend of 13 – 15th November. The Birmingham based show is a leviathan of an event with over 1,800 cars, 300 bikes and 250 car clubs as well as the UKs largest indoor auto jumble and we were present with our range of car covers, Autopods and Cair-o-Ports on show alongside many other customised car accessories.

This years show was bigger than ever with nearly 69,000 attendees making the journey to Birmingham’s NEC smashing the previous year’s high of 65,000 for the three-day event.

The Discovery Channel’s Wheeler Dealers Live Stage once again drew the crowds and featured celebrity hosts such as Mike Brewer, Edd China, Ant Anstead and Fuzz Townshend and special guests including Ross Brawn and Sir Stirling Moss who embarked upon a tour of the show signing autographs for the thousands of fans.

Daniel Nwaokolo, Event Director, said:

“The response to this year’s show is phenomenal. Thanks to all those who made it such a huge success – exhibitors, visitors, clubs and our fantastic celebrities. The standard of classics presented by the clubs, exhibitors, and the new Pride of Ownership entries set the bar at a new level. We also had more dealers than ever before offering exceptional vehicles and reporting brisk business. Our passion and dedication to the classic community is clear and we will continue to build this show until it is the best in the world.”

Richard Morley, Operations Director for Lancaster Insurance, said

“This year’s show has once again blown us away, from the new layout to seeing how the theme has been interpreted by so many is incredible. Our ‘Miss World’ contest showcased six stunning cars from around the globe and ‘Miss Great Britain’ was named victorious! I’d like to thank those who loaned us their cars enabling this to happen, Mike Brewer for announcing the winner and everyone who attended for voting – it has been fantastic! We can’t wait for the 2016 show already, to showcase our completed Mini restoration project and raise as much as we can for Prostate Cancer UK!”

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show will return to Birmingham’s NEC from 11th to 13th November 2016 and we will be there, be sure to keep in touch or sign up to our email newsletter to receive updates on special show offers.
